I think there is some errors in this example, so, I've tried to find and correct them... If I'm right, I think I can say that I understood the new Battle system..

Round one - Step 2 - Battle Zone : "all player Units starts in Zone 4.... Lord's Wolf knights are in Zone 5, at the front of the army. +5 Intensity"
Round one - Sep 4 - Discover Opponent Phase : the opponent should be determined with 1d6+14, as explained in p45, so, the GM cannot roll 12 !!!
Round two - Step 4 - Follower's Fight Phase : we have to add the lost of half the Followers (7/2= 3) due to the Body Guard bonus used by Lord Wolf in this round.
Round three - Step 1 : Lord Wolf has lost 3 of his Followers
Round three - Step 5 - Unit Result : according to p38, the Unit Victory result is the same as the maneuver attempted... so, it should be a win on an Attack : No change
Round three - Step 5 - Glory for the Round : all the combattants should gains 100 Glory, according to "Killing Commander" in p55
Round four - Step 1 : Lord Wolf has lost 3 of his Followers
Round four - Step 2 - Battle Intensity for the Round : with an Intensity of 14 (normally 15 with my remark 3 points before, but, it has the same consequence), there is an Automatic Action : the enemy army is now attempting to retreat - all the enemy units should withdraw.
Round four - Step 4 - Follower's Fight Phase : according to p47 (Follower's Weapon Skill Results), a failure means the loss of 1 follower knight (not 1d6)
Round four - Step 4 - Summarized of the Combat : according to the text, it should be : Lord Wolf Loss (Javelineers) Tie (Howling Warriors), Sir Bledri Tie (Javelineers) Win (Howling Warrior), Sir Adaman Loss (Javelineers) Win (Howling Warriors) => 2 Losses, 2 Ties and 2 Win
Round five - Step 1 : Lord Wolf has also lost 4 of his followers
[li]After the Battle - Follower Losses : "Of the 7 followers of Lord Wolf, 3 were lost when the bodyguard was used in round 2, and 1 was lost in round 4."

You are correct in every one of those points.
You can, thus, say you understand the Battle System.

Furthermore, your presentation was a model of how I'd love to see it done.
Thank you.

Now play it!!

Thank you for all your answers, Greg, they help me so much...

I've just one question, about the round three : in this example, the step 5 of the round is played after all the extended melee rounds, that doesn't seem the right way to proceed, isn't it ? But, in my mind, it's seems (I haven't test the system, it's just an impression) more fluent to play like that ?

End of Round is played, and then Extended rounds.
