Hello,
Page 22 of the Book of Battle states that if I roll a partial success versus a Unit Intensity Critical, my "Unit is Double Attacked! See: pg. 45." Page 45 describes a Double Attack as a special ability that allows certain missile troops to "make two attacks per Round, first with their missiles and then with melee."
The way I see it, there are several possible interpretations of this. I believe that the following makes most sense:
The reference to the Double Attack is an error. It simply means that my unit is attacked by two enemy units at the same time.
Is this correct?

The same goes for Unit Commander Failure versus Unit Intensity Critical.

Your interrpretation is correct: The Double Attack referred to in this case isn't a double attack by a single unit - it's two separate units that attack.

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread but I had the same question so it seemed to be the sensible thing to do...
When it says "Unit is Double Attacked see page 45" does it actually mean the "x2" option and not the "D"? That is to say that I'd roll once for an opponent but that there are double the number of that opponent to face?
Furthermore if the unit is double attacked and the players for some reason choose something like "attack vs two" I'd select the two units as per usual and then each of those units would in turn do the "x2" attack?

As Darren said, I select two *separate* units and the PKs have to fight them both, splitting attacks etc,. If they attack vs Two then I double the number again. Note, Attacking vs Two in this situation is borderline insane :)
