Here are the complete rules for Automatic Actions
Automatic Actions
Certain Intensity levels can trigger automatic responses in the armies. These are the way that most armies act most of the time. Variations follow. Note that this does not apply to the First Charge, but is part of all subsequent rounds.
• When Core Intensity is 0 or less, at the start of two consecutive rounds, the entire enemy army turns and runs—you have a Decisive Victory.
• When Core Intensity is 15 or less, at the start of two consecutive rounds, the enemy army signals retreat
• When Core Intensity is 25 or more, at the start of two consecutive rounds, your army signals retreat
• When Core Intensity is 40 or more, at the start of two consecutive rounds, your army routs—you are Decisively Defeated
Certain factors modify these automatic responses:
• Larger armies have more at stake, suffer more inertia, and are poorer at communication; a Medium Battle requires three rounds to trigger, a large four. Huge battles are usually scripted, but would have five rounds
• Armies outnumbered 10:1 will act two rounds earlier, i.e. immediately
• Armies outnumbered 2:1 or more will act one round earlier, i.e. after one round
