What happens if two Knights both make marriage proposals to the same woman?

In particular in my game we have a woman who has land and glory, two Knights are both going to try and marry her. I presume that the decision actually rests with the woman's guardian, in this case an Uncle.

What do the family of a woman get out of a marriage in the game? There must be some incentive to find the "best" partner so that the family lands are passed down to a good heir but are there any other factors? Can the new in-laws call upon the Knight for assistance?

Sounds like a prime opportunity for competing quests to prove who is more worthy.

Decision rests with the liege lord, who often grants this right to another person.

The game doesn't offer any particular rewards for the woman's family.

Of course, yes.
Although these are not rules that I put into the core game.
They will be detailed in a Book of the Family that I've been working on.

What is gained is an alliance, a group of relatives.
The best partner is one from a rich family, with land and wealth, and also many opportunities for the family members to progress.

Can the new in-laws call upon the Knight for assistance?

Yes, as he is now kin, family.

Thanks for the responses, I'll just roll with the Uncle looking for the strongest match for his niece and demanding a Saxon chirefs banner or something similar.
