Is there a downloadable table of this anywhere? I kept referring to the book each time to see what options were available.

We also used the 1 page (which is 3pages) pdf for the summary of the Tactical options but was rather confusing without the book.

Also, I don't suppose anyone has a done a nice Battle mat in colour? I am thinking of getting one printed and laminated for play.

By the way. I did the battle of Lindsey (490) using the Book of Battle and had a blast. We probably didn't do it right and missed out lots of things, but it was a good start. The players enjoyed it and were really considering their tactical options. All in all, we seemed to have too many Triupmhs (all win or tie) although I may have confused tie with (gets shield, ie player success v opponent success).

Still it was a good introduction.

There's the pdf on Greg's website which lists the commonest ones on one page (although if you print to A4 a few words overflow) but I think that's probably the one you mentioned.

I ran a battle for the first time this week too and consequently have been mulling on what could go on a battlemat for it. Thus far I'm thinking the 'nine-line' schematic would form the centre part and then you'd have some marker boxes around the edge to record common intensity modifiers (unit status, odds, terrain - stuff like that). Thus far I haven't actually done anything of course...

I *know* I got stuff wrong in my go through. Missing the -20 unit intensity modifier for being disengaged was the biggie, but there was other stuff as well. The players had fun though and were suitably chastened by the amped up lethality of the system (altho' the only PK who was onstage did pretty well and was barely scratched, even though their unit and the wider army was badly mauled).

I've considered printing up all the maneuvers on Index cards. Then noted when they can be used (and prereqs) in one (or more) of the corners). For instace wins could have a mark in the upper Left corner, ties in the Upper Right, Partial Success in the Lower Right, and failure in the Lower Left.

The idea is be to hand the Unit Commander the cards and let him pick his option by looking at the cards and seeing which ones were applicable-and what their benefits were.

That's a good idea. I was thinking of using the current manoeuvre table and taking out all non applicable options for the various success levels. 4 sheets in total. The unit commander can then pick the relevant one and go off that.

This in particular seems especially handy.

Thijs,

That is very nice indeed. Very useful.

Makes my half baked attempt look a mess.

Thank you I will certainly use that.

Cheers

Thx,
I noticed it helps my players get in the spirit if the handouts are too :)
