That's incredible. When I saw the topic title, I thought of Palomydes and that one Ethiopian knight working for King Mark in the GPC, but this adds a whole lot of possibilities. Might this prove to be a good way to integrate BoKL cultures into the game from the start? The Romans pulled out of Britain by about 410; a game starting in 485 would have Roman rule at the very edge of living memory.

It seems pretty believable, really. Rome had troops recruited from all over their empire, and probably made them serve far from their own homes to avoid a possible rebellion? Still... it is a very cool find! :)
