had an idea to try and start a chat / forum based game..the location would be Camelot with various locations to rp in..and then one or two listed outside the city to keep those who want their swords to remain sharp..

Looking at the moment to see if their is interest out there for such a thing just before i start the work on the forum..i would like to set in well into Arthurs reign but before the romance between his Queen and Lancelot becomes known...Mordred will be there stirring disent as well as a few emmiseries from other kingdoms..

Players would be not only knights and ladies but courtiers and warriors..depending on what style of play they were after..most of the interaction would come from their words with other players with Gm's running the odd scene in which they could all take part..

so thats the bare bones so far..let me know if thier is interest out there and if you'd like to help in any way ( love to hear from Gm's who have ideas or questions..)

Are we talking about something that's more akin to free-form roleplaying (i.e., collaborative storytellling), or a standard GM+players game with adventures and such?

free form with certain set scenes that will be run by the Gm's running the game..such as the odd combat, quest, challenge..but the main day to day buisness of establishing your character will be done through your own interaction..

How are you going to handle things that you normally roll dice for, like the turn-by-turn nature of pendragon combat?

easy...still need character sheets submitting and will be placing a dice roller on the forum page..

Sounds intruiging - may be interested. Still not quite sure though about the nature of the best. Is this something that is going to happen in real time (chat based) or is it going to be turn based so folks from different time zones etc can join in (forum based)?

its going to be a mixture with forum posts for those who cant get onto the chat at certain times and still want to keep things going with other players. The chat will be going 24/7 and basically you should be able to drop in when ever you want and rp which ever little bit you wish.

Each character will have their own character logs ( able to be seen by all the players ) where you can post ramblings, musings, letters and journals...and thereby keep other players sometimes wondering what you are really up to sometimes..

Like i said..for those who require the adventure we will run seperate events ( both on the chat and in the forums ) for those with a braver heart then most who like the thrill of battle..
