What would be a reasonable reward for a PC (banneret) who managed to capture one of the Saxon kings at Badon? Earldom? Just the randsom?

Up to you in a way. However, going by precedent in the Battle of Lindsey, you just get a rather generous amount of loot.

Add to that, the enmity of the saxons under that king...

After Badon? Who cares.
They are all commoners now, subjects. Even in 15 years when the vengeful boys grow up they will have een raised as peasants, not warriors.

A suitable prize for capturing the enemy king is "a great reward," which depends on the rank of your knight. Is he a household knight? give him ten times his annual income and a seat a the High Table forever. But x10 for a vassal is to be a banneret! The king could make him a banneret, a tenant of the king himself (though not a tenant in chief.) I suggest ten manors in the newly conquered territory, of course.

How about the Ransom for a Saxon King? Treat it as a guideline. In fact, most captures are done by several people, who get a fraction of the total reward (same for Glory). The one to whom the king surrenders gets a Big Special Bonus, even if he did not more or even less than the others.

This, being after Badon, however, the king is especially rich with new lands in Saxon territories, as well as all the lands of his own knights who were killed, and are heirless. He will keep most of the latter (for political and economic purposes) but will be generous with his new lands.

So in my campaign, for the knight who captured the king (alone):

A Grant, for life and the lives of your heirs, held as a personal tenancy from King Arthur Pendragon

title: banneret
holding: fifteen manors (clustered) and also whatever expansions you can make to the ten nearby manors that are in ruins and waste. In a Saxon land
levy: ten knights, twenty soldiers; 40 days service, etc.

title: Round Table Knight, for the life of the recipient
grant: £10 per year, for clothing, armor, horses, retinue and other accoutrement appropriate to a Round Table knight.

Round Table? Really?
Yes.
For capturing the head of an enemy army?
This is the one-of-a-kind moment that earns it, no matter what the Glory or other factors
