KAP 5.1 is available here (http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product_info.php?products_id=81449), in PDF form. I expect the print version is in the works.
(Thanks to daddystabz' for spotting it.)

Excellent. Had initial plans to wait until the hardback was out, but having been away from Pendragon for so long I'll probably crack long before then and download this pdf version.
I'm also considering getting the character supplement for the GPC here: http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product_info.php?products_id=15749&it=1
Does anyone know if there are any 5.1 revisions to this document? Should I wait for the GPC 5.1 version?

This is my question too.
By the way, Caledvolc, the hardback will only be available through print-on-demand. I suppose we will be abble to order it as soon as the softcover version comes out or sometime around that time. I too wish an HC version.

I'm happy with hardcover or softcover, as long as it's a paper form!
Though I am sorely tempted to pick up the PDF now just to read on my own. . . .

I think it's basically the same as the 5th edition from Arthaus. If you already have that you better just wait for the prnted book.

Aye, it's just errata and cleaned up stuff isn't it?

Yep. Personaly I only have the pdf from the 5th edition and what I want is a physical copy, so there's no point in getting this.

Indeed, but it's exciting as that means the physical copies must be coming soon hopefully!

Judging from Greg's posts, the berserk tactic has been changed, at any rate, along with some typo and text fixes (splitting attacks works like it used to).

Trait clean-up is probably in there too... the Pagan worldly stuff, etc.

Otherworldy/Wordly? Probably.
I wonder if he changed the marriage table so you need a 21 or more to get land?

I have now bought the 5.1 rulebook in pdf, and I bought the character booklet for the GPC as well. I'll wait for the updated 5.1 with errata version of the GPC before getting that, but am looking forward to it.
I found it a worthy purchase for someone like me who doesn't have any 5th edition stuff.
I like the new campaign focus on Roman/Cymric cultures and Christian/Pagan religions for the core/default Pendragon campaign, plus the start time being during Uther's rule. There are some nice subtle touches which are new to me, like the difference between Roman and British Christianity. Still reading through it as and when I get time.
The character booklet is great too. Reminds me of the old character pamphlet that came with edition 1 boxed set. Always did like seeing how those famous characters get described and represented in game terms.

Just ran my first session with the 5.1 PDF open on my laptop during the game. I am looking forward to getting a printed copy of 5.1 even though I already have 5th Ed. While the upgrade may not be essential, just to have all the errata corrected makes 5.1 so much nicer to play with - much easier than cross-checking all my errata print-outs from this website during the game.
So bravo for getting an updated rule book back into the marketplace, I'm very happy to have one and am looking forward to a 'real' book in the near future.

Unfortunately, the KAP 5.1 PDF does not have bookmarks in it. This makes the 5.1 version of little use to me and we'll be sticking with 5.0. I have to counsel all my players to skip purchasing the KAP 5.1 version.

Why? Even if they wish to print it and bind it? That's what I've done with mine and it looks gorgeous!

I have not bought 5.1 one yet (though that seems to be the obvious thing to do if you do buy the pdf). Does anyone know when it will be available as PoD? Or is it already? I cant find it on drive.thru as PoS.

I won't be using it as a GM.

I find the ability to use Find on a PDF is sometimes better than leafing through a physical book, so I don't mind too much using a pdf without bookmarks. But it's poor form - a professional pdf *should* have bookmarks.

I don't mean to pile on, but I wanted to add my two cents.
I roleplay exclusively through electronic media these days, and my tabletops are virtual too. Is there any chance that there could be an update to 5.1 to include bookmarks?
While I'm dreaming, how about a site we can subscribe to that has all of the material online and in a slick, modern format? ;D I would love to see this hobby evolve and Pendragon is the only game I play any more.

Nocturnal is no bigger than Issaries, Moon Design, Chaosium or most other companies these days, and, while we would love to have such an upgrade, we lack personnel.
Choice: I ought to do that, or write new material?
Thus
I invite everyone who will contribute to this effort to contact me off line.
In the subject line, please put "Volunteer to Work" with your particular ability and desire in the content.
Please let me say up front, as well, because it always gets said some time:
I need someone who will finish the project
I do not need someone who wants to do it
I do not need someone who will volunteer
I do not need someone who knows how to do it
I do not need someone who knows how it is done elsewhere
I do not need someone who will start to do it
I need someone who will finish the project
In the game world, these "volunteers" are called freelancers
In a Pendragon metaphor
Free Lancers Wanted
Knights Only Need Apply
When there is cash flow and plunder to be had, perhaps permanent captaincies to be given out, then such free lancers of the household are always first in line for rewards.

I hope some does have the skill and the software needed to step forward and do this. But there are good reasons why this is best done by the designer of the PDF:
Creating bookmarks, after the document is created, is an extremely fiddly and time consuming process AND you need specialised, expensive software to create bookmarks in PDFs. I don't know of any free software that allows the creation of bookmarks - in a PDF that does not already have them. (There is free software that will amend and alter bookmarks in a pdf that does already have them, but it's not exactly fun if you need to create several.)
However, if you have access to the document that was used to create the PDF, and decent (expensive for non-publishers!) pdf creation software, you can set them up much more easily - here's a list of things you can do with just a couple of clicks:
* Choose which heading (or other) styles you want to be converted into bookmarks in the PDF.
* Whether the table of contents, and/or other hyperlinks should be converted into hyperlinks in the PDF
So instead of manually creating every single click, it should be easy for the initial document creator to create them all just a few clicks. But this requires possession of the original pre-PDF document.
So it's really best of the PDF publisher does this.

Greg, I want you writing. You're too valuable to be doing all the little things. I hope comments like mine are taken as suggestions/wishlists/encouragement; I do not mean for them to be criticism.
I've volunteered where my skills are most valuable already. For the reasons Darren says above, I couldn't volunteer to do a thing with the PDF.

I understand, and it is exactly how I read your comments.
Nocturnal is still new, small and while ambitious, lis also limited
Volunteers always welcome. :)
