Hello All,

I use a system that includes criticals and specials in my game. I add something extra on a special and a big something on a critical, since criticals are less common now. Also, I don't make all rolls over 20 just a 20 and say critical. I separate all rolls, it makes things have a greater flavor, especially as the players get noteworthy. If you are interested, email me.

Hi all!

In my game we use a system that differs from the KAP rules a tiny bit. Some of them, I've presented before, in other threads - some not. The differences are:

- slightly altered stats (no SIZ or APP, but a BEAring and a WISdom).
- free re-rolls (typically 2-5 per gaming year and stat), with all skills connected to a spec. stat.
- slightly altered traits (not the system).
- other passion rules.
- virtues and flaws.
- fewer weapon skills (as discussed in other threads).
- specials/criticals system in combat plus less dmg on a crit (to avoid tink-tink-boom).
- rules for initiative in combat (as discussed in other threads).
- other rules for 2w combat (as discussed in other threads).

I dunno how this forum room is supposed to work, but if there is interest I could present them all, or some of them (mechanics and the reasons for the changes), here... or in an email. If there is an interest, email me or reply to this.

Cheers!

This thread is ONLY for links pointing to old threads discussing houserules. That way the moderator team can find them, and move them into the house rule subforum.
If you have new house rules you want to discuss or that you haven't discussed on the forum before, please create a new thread for those.

To directly answer your question, noir, there's no set rule how to post your house rules. You could dump them all in a single thread, "noir's house rules", but if you have several different house rules, some would likely not get much attention. I think the best way (this is just my suggestion, not a forum rule), is to create new threads for each distinct house rule, or group of related house rules (like, all your combat rules, or all your personality trait and passion tweaks, etc.). That way they'll each get the attention they deserve.

My suggestion:
even posting just a part of something, like "my combat rules," can create a maddening thread as ten participants each seize on different single item to discuss.
that is just my thing, though. I like these threads broken down.

I suggest that if you have a large body of material, it can be:
1. linked to if you have it posted somewhere
2. posted on the official site as a source, a place of reference, a url
then bring points, or even fields and lines, of discussion to the forum for intricate scrutiny

If the nocturnal site isn't running by then we'll put it on my crusty ugly old site for now
