Pendragon was the first fantasy genre campaign I ran with the first edition in the late 1980s and will always have a special place in my memories. If I were to run a Pendragon campaign again now, I would offer different options to players. An example would be a historical version based on the hypothesis that Arthur was a Roman known as Artorius which was the inspiration behind the 2004 film King Arthur starring Clive Owen and Keira Knightley. Other versions would be a darkly humorous perspective as depicted in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Attached is a character sample writeup. If there's interest, I'll post more character writeups for the remaining cast of characters.

Here is the writeup for an alternative version of Guinevere from the 2004 King Arthur film.
Enjoy!

Just FYI
The hypothesis is way older than the movie
See Stewart's Crystal Cave series, for instance

Mary Stewart's version was so much better than that movie. Lancelot being a Sarmatian.... Pfffft!

Yes, I remember reading a couple literary works and watching assorted documentaries that explored who could have been the inspiration behind King Arthur around two decades ago, well before the producers even considered making such a film. I was merely waxing nostalgic for the game campaign I once ran that was mostly based off of Sir Thomas Mallory's Le Morte d'Arthur. If given the opportunity again, I probably would try to offer multiple options to the players: mythic (Mallory's work); historical (inspired by the 2004 film, or perhaps the most recent Camelot series); and maybe even a humorous tone that takes place in the world depicted in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. :)

For the more gritty, historical feel Bernard Cornwell's Arhturian trilogy is a must-read. A helluva lot better (IMHO) than that Clive Owen thing.

Thanks! Will add to my reading list. It's been a long time since I read anything significant related to Arthurian legend (Marion Zimmer Bradley's Mists of Avalon comes to mind which seems like a lifetime ago). The closest thing were excerpts on Arthurian stories from the Time-Life Enchanted World book series that I read to my daughter at bedtime within the past few months.
