Dear all,

our group consists of five players, and after 22 in-game years, each one of them has an extensive family history with many family members. Some marriages and illicit liaisons between the different families have made our winter phases an mess which took ages to disentangle.

To solve this, we've now been using our own custom Family Record Sheet for a while. It lists a maximum of 20 family members (PKs and their wives included). Whenever family events appear, we roll on this list to determine a random family member. I've uploaded a copy of the PDF here: https://app.box.com/s/owp32ryrme0acv1wda30pzqaohd206o5

There's one record sheet per player, and no character may appear on more than one family record sheet. If two families share an NPC, the players must agree who will put that character on their record sheet. Families may be larger than 20 members, but every character beyond this number will be considered out of the game.

I'm wondering, how do you cope with large families in your own games?
